Robert has been volunteering with Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE) as part of a new project selling and promoting fresh fruit and vegetables at Dr Grays Hospital.

Although he has only been a volunteer for the organisation for about 4 months, he has volunteered every week as well as helping with driving for the local project. When Robert was asked why he initially wanted to volunteer with CFINE he explained that he was bored in the house and approached Volunteer Centre Moray to find out about volunteering. By chance one day he met a CFINE development worker and took it from there!

Robert feels like he has benefited a lot from volunteering. He said “I get to interact with people, a wide range of customers at the hospital, use my brain through making up orders etc”.

“I would definitely recommend volunteering. Its good fun, gets me out in the fresh air (and rain sometimes) and meeting people. I feel I’m doing something worthwhile working for the charity”.
