Richard Lochhead MSP helped out at the Keith & Dufftown Railway during Volunteer's Week 2009.
“A big thank-you to the army of volunteers at Keith and Dufftown Railway who looked after me last Sunday and gave me a taste of volunteering. My involvement was to highlight Volunteers’ Week which celebrates and encourages volunteering across a range of community projects.
The Keith and Dufftown Railway is an important draw to Moray and attracts hundreds of visitors every year from across the world. The volunteers do a fantastic job, from the restoration and maintenance of railway engines and carriages to the building and repair of miles of track and station facilities. There is a huge range of activities that individuals can get involved in.
The railway makes for a great day out in Moray and I would urge locals to support them either by visiting or if you can, by helping out and volunteering.”
