Angus Robertson MP took time out of his busy schedule to participate in Volunteer's Week 2009 by volunteering with Community First's Handyperson Service.
He enjoyed his volunteering and was said:
"I very much enjoyed a brief stint with the Moray Handyperson Service, a voluntary group that assists less able people in the Moray community by providing a basic repair and assistance service for people struggling to do so, on their own.
For my own part I helped with a garden clearance in the Pulmuir area of Forres for an elderly lady who was unable to get out and about as she used to. Volunteering is a fantastic way to make new friends and find a new fulfilling challenge and with a huge range of volunteering opportunities in Moray from social care to environmental enhancement and sport projects there is pretty much something for everyone.
The Volunteer Centre is based in Elgin and provides information on volunteer opportunities all across Moray. It’s definitely well worth a look". (Featured in the Forres Gazette of Wednesday 17 June 09)
