2012 Outreach Dates confirmed! E-mail
Wednesday, 14 December 2011 16:57

Moray Jobcentre Plus offices have now been added to Volunteer Centre Moray continued outreach session throughout Moray to maintain a regular link with potential volunteers.

We will still be in three of the central libraries once a month where you will be able to meet with a member of the team to discuss volunteering opportunities. We will also be in all three Jobcentre Plus offices right across Moray to ensure we offer the most suitable time to everyone.

The dates below are drop in sessions where you will be able to pop along and have a chat. However, if you would like to discuss specific options available to you, please download and complete our volunteer registration form (which can be found on the left hand side of the main page) and return it to our main office. Alternatively, you can give us a call and we will send one to you.

Also, the sessions in the Jobcentre Plus offices are mainly for those accessing the Jobcentre Plus services, however additional arrangements can be made to see potential volunteers out with these time within these locations.

IT disruption at VCM E-mail
Wednesday, 09 November 2011 23:28

Volunteer Centre Moray is currently experiencing IT issues. We are working with our IT consultants to correct this problem as soon as possible.

At this time, staff do not have access to emails, membership or opportunity information however, action has been taken to obtain as much additional information as possible. We are currently working with partnership agencies such as Volunteer Development Scotland to ensure this information can be accessed. VCM will continue to operate as normal and will ensure minimal disruption to any work currently being undertaken by staff.

VCM would like to also ensure that staff are committed to maintaining our service that we offer to all throughout Moray, to our usual high standard.

If you would like to contact us, please contact us via phone on 01343 843705. A member of staff will always be available at the centre Monday – Friday from 10am – 3pm. Out with these hours, please leave a message on our answer phone and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst we correct this issue.

This is a great way to get out and about and meet people.

Everything would be provided and all they ask is for people to volunteer an hour or so of their time to give out information on hearth health and to accept donations.

BHF rely on donations of time and money to continue our life-saving work. All the money raised at this event would support the core work that they do locally to save and improve the lives of those living with heart disease.

British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland is the nation’s heart charity, dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information. Because together we can save the life you love.

For more information or if you would like to register your interest in helping BHF with their collections, please contact VCM on 01343 843705.
You can call Kathy at BHF directly on 01466 740375 or 07984152552.

Join the Dots 2011 Report E-mail
Thursday, 29 September 2011 12:29
Join the Dots came around through discussion from the volunteer managers who attended the Volunteer Managers Network (VMN) sessions.

It became quite clear the following had a major impact to the voluntary sector and how Voluntary organisations and groups would continue and sustain in Moray.

> Budget cuts and Service Level Agreements being withdrawn or slashed. Leaving organisations no choice but to either close or restrict their services. Although the local need would not alter, resources, organisation’s original ways of working and the services provided might and staff and hours would suffer.
